When I saw they were here Jim and I ran out to the airport to snap a couple of pictures of them. The historian told me they are in better shape now than when they were flying missions in the war. It was a great coincidence that they were here, because I have been teaching my 2nd grade enrichment group about WWII. We put the pictures up in our room with our other information about WWII.

World War II Bombers in the Air!
Yes, there really were World War II bombers in the air over Lubbock yesterday. My father would have gotten such a thrill out of seeing them. He was an anti-aircraft gunner in WWII and protected the bombers out every morning and in every evening at Snetterdon Heath AFB in England.
